X'mas and shi fu's + Yun ru's birthday

A pity shi ming and clarence weren't able to join us. We did a mini-celebration for Yun Ru's 20th birthday. It wasn't thoroughly planned but it didn't appeared worse than i thought it would be. I still see her smiles! *Hope it was real?*

Anyway, it's the day for Christmas again! No present for me though, I'm a free thinker! What are you expecting, Mel?

So before that was also Shi Fu's birthday, and the celebration was held at Geylang. Not in the hotel or red-light district but the Huang's Clan.

Honest speaking, I was very touched when I first see Shi Fu's daughter who came all the way to that inaccessible place to give him a cake. We jolly well know that she wouldn't know any of us there! Still, I'm really proud of her to make herself present. I'm not sure if she were here for shi fu's bday celebration the past years.

Back to Yun ru. loL! Was also appreciative that she made time for us to celebrate with her! Watched sherlock holmes together with the BOSB. Great movie!

Not sure how new year's going to be like, but the upcoming year is when most of us are turning 21! Haha... Watch out for it!

Don't know what i'm blogging anyways...

better sign off before more bullshit is typed here.

Till new year!

Block leave

The day I became a Private.

Yea, like I've mentioned in the previous post. BMT has since passed and we had our passing out parade(POP) just last Tuesday. Haven't really gotten the chance to settle down and upload these precious photos.

Come to think about it, many thing happened within this 2 months eh?

How we started as complete strangers.
How we adapt to the new habitat.
How we start to get back to sleeping and waking up early.
How we try to finish half-full bottle within limited time.
How we queue, eat, drink, dispose within 20 mins.
How we source out information to prevent blisters and remedy to it.
How we made our boots from awkward to comfortable footwear.
How we try to put everything on and off the shortest time possible.
How we learn to calling the right people at the right time.
How we start to appreciate our family and home.
How we start to get 'blood in our brain' almost every now and then.
How we replaced walking with "double up".
How we walked through the never-ending route marches with Full-battle order.
How we learn to strip and assemble rifle.
How we learn to fire a rifle.
How we throw a grenade.
How we dug shell-scrape.
How we survived during outfield.
How fucked up army-life can be and ultimately...
How we became a special band of brothers.

Well, everyone who went through BMT will definitely have what seemed like never ending stories to tell. It's rather amazing how this 2 months have totally changed most of our lives. Some may have matured while some became stronger. The most consoling event is when I see most of my section mates improved their IPPT score in such limited period. They said it was impossible, but we done it eventually. =)

I wouldn't say our platoon were the best in terms of physical fitness nor combat fitness. However, I still place my Section first, as the wildest and most happening group of 12 men.

Have I told you the prank they once played on me? It was embarrassing, but it was definitely unforgettable. Should I Share? I think i should...

Our whole platoon was once confined for a weekend, so the whole Company line sort of belongs to us all. Well, we're told to clean the COY line. When we're done, we returned to our bunk to rest but were warned not to sleep as we weren't allowed to. However, fatigue got the better of some of us, I was also a victim to the bed.

As i slowly doze off, i heard...

"FUCK ALL OF YOU! WHO SAY YOU GUYS CAN SLEEP!?! WHOLE FUCKING PLATOON KNOCK IT DOWN.. I SAY DOWN!!!"

and i woke up. I sat up on my bed, i turned to look outside of our bunk. I saw Glenn, our bed 1, being 'pumped' outside together with the rest of the platoon.

"1!! 2!! 3!! 4!!"

"FUCK!" I screamed.

Then I jumped off my bed, and tactical duck-walked to the door then...

Yes, it was just a scam. I was so embarassed. loL! I sat at the door (which I hid after the tactical duck-walk) and laughed at myself. It was so obvious yet i didn't realise. If they were to punish those sleeping, they would come straight in and pump me instead isn't it? Plus, my section mates would have waken me up right? loL! How silly. This happens when you're too tired. Like what our commanders always said "What?! Shaq cannot think?"

Yes, as expected, they laughed their ass off. Not only me, Eugene, a National Bowler from Section 3, fell off his twin bed upon hearing the counts. lol!

What a confinement...

Anyways, our POP!
Our platoon sergeant. Very nice guy. Glenn on the left, and Kian tat on the right! =)
The wildest section! With our beloved Sec Com, 3sgt Kenny

Anyway, while uploading those photos from the camera, i found this. I wish i could pass this to Failblog...

Fail!

POP!

Wow...POP is coming! What a relief.

Just some reflections...

With a blink of an eye and it's 2 months already, POP is just 2 days from now.
Kind of hard to believe, but I've cleared Ippt so nicely with just 1 min shy from a gold (I know the difference is long, but still quite an achievement for me!)

Managed SOC with an open wound so big on my palm that I cursed and swear as I complete the Swing trainer and bit my teeth through the whole low rope process...

Route march seemed easy to everyone else, until you try it with Full-battle order. I still have doubts over completion of 24km on Tuesday, wish me luck!

We've survived field camp sweetly, all those bullshit arti and shell-scrap. Give me a break!

Urban ops? You could have thought it was some kind of games, but it's cool with all those blanks and sounds.

Live range/btp... wow, live rounds! You could kill one with that, serious! *achieved marksman!* and also threw a live hand grenade... unbelievable.

now...we're rehearsing our graduation parade which falls on the 8th December.

Yes 8th Dec, I do remember this date... it's unfortunate things had happened. I'm sure she wouldn't read this, but I do hope she wouldn't mind if I place this picture here. It's nice, reminiscing those times we shared together... I know it's history already. haha!

I've put this in my Biography with the Ninja, as it's part of the "memorable and meaningful" part, people in BMTC will know what i'm talking about. Hopefully it'll be kept there forever and nice.

Anyway, this photo is still with me, and I really like the smiles on the face...

If you're reading... Happy Birthday in Advance, as that's also the day I pass out.. ...
